CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Haasan’s elder brother Chandrahasan passed away in London. The 82-year-old producer-lawyer was at the residence of his daughter Anu Hasan, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. His wife Geethamani had died early this year.

Ulaganayagan has two elder brothers – Charu Haasan (father of actor Suhasini) and Chandrahasan. He had been Kamal’s huge pillar of support during the times of crisis, including Vishwaroopam ban and so on.

An executive producer at the Raaj Kamal International, Chandrahasan handled the production work of films like Hey Ram, Nala Damayanthi, Virumandi, Thoongavanam besides others.

Suhasini wrote on Twitter, “My uncle Chandrahasan, father of Anu Hasan, left us yesterday. WE (Hasans) lost a rare gem (sic).” Chandrahasan was survived by his son Nirmal and daughter Anu.
