CHENNAI: The Ice House police have registered a case against PR Sundar, a Chennai-based businessman, following a complaint by a woman news anchor working with a private television channel, alleging sexual harassment, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.

According to the complaint, the woman had approached Sundar seeking employment, following which the two became acquainted. She alleged that he later invited her to his residence in Pattinapakkam, where he behaved inappropriately, and that when she informed his wife about the incident, no action was taken.

The complainant further alleged that Sundar subsequently asked her to visit his office on the pretext of apologising for the June 29 incident. She claimed that he proceeded to confine her in a room there for nearly three hours, during which he sexually harassed her and threatened her.

The case has been booked under five sections of the BNS, including provisions relating to sexual harassment, offences against women and criminal intimidation. Sundar is also a financial influencer with a YouTube following of 1.2 million where he discusses stock trading strategies.
