NIA announces cash rewards on 5 Maoists, 12 Mujahideens

The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday announced cash rewards for information on top functionaries of CPI (Maoist), including its top leader Muppala Lakshmana Rao alias Ganapathy, in a case under its investigation.

A reward of Rs 15 lakh was announced for any information on Ganapathy and Rs 10 lakh each on Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavraj, Thippiri Tirupati alias Deoji and Balmuri Narayan Rao alias Prabhakar. While Basavraj hails from Srikakulam district, a others hail from Karimnagar district. A reward of Rs 5 lakh on Somji aliyas Sahdev, who hails from Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, was also announced.

The FIR says the accused, being members of the banned  CPI(Maoist), entered into a criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India. In furtherance of their conspiracy, they collected explosive substances, prohibited ammunition and huge amount of money in a concealed manner.

Also, the NIA has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each for information on 12 Indian Mujahideen functionaries. The names of the absconding terrorists are Ahmed Siddibappa alias Yasin Bhatkal, Mohd Tehseen Akhtar alias Monu, Mohammad Riyaz alias Riyaz Bhatkal, Mohammad Iqbal alias Iqbal Bhatkal, Mohsin Ismail Choudhary, Amir Reza Khan, Shahnawaz Alam, Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, Ariz Khan alias Junaid, Mohd Sajid alias Bada Sajid, Mohd Khalid and Mirza Shadaab Beg.
