Curbs on processions, gatherings from 6th

The Hyderabad city police have prohibited holding of any kind of public meetings and processions within the Hyderabad city (twin city areas) to maintain peace.

In order to maintain peace in the city, the Hyderabad city police have prohibited holding of any kind of public meetings and processions within the Hyderabad city (twin city areas) without obtaining prior permission from zonal deputy commissioners of police (law & order), additional commissioner of police (law & order) or joint commissioner of police (co-ordination & security) or commissioner of police, Hyderabad.

The ban will be in force from 6 am on Jun 6 to 6 am on June 12.

A press release from the office of Anurag Sharma, commissioner of police, Hyderabad, on Wednesday stated that carrying of arms such as swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags, bludgeons, guns, explosives and other offensive weapons was also prohibited in the above-mentioned areas. Civilians will also not be allowed to gather on public roads or in public places.

The public or organistions will also not be  allowed to use any sort of public address system around the Secretariat, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation building, commissioner of fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Gardens,  Upper Tank Bund, Imax Rotary, NTR Marg and roads and flyover leading from the Secretariat to Visweswaraya statue.

The police also prohibited playing music, singing or making speeches or loudspeaker broadcasts in the above-mentioned areas. Violators are liable for prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348, Fasli (No. IX).
