RTC agent held for ticket fraud

Police arrested RTC ticket agent P Hanumantha Rao here on Wednesday for cheating the APSRTC of Rs 5.02 lakh.

According to DCP (CCS) LKV Ranga Rao, the police recovered from him Rs 1.09 lakh in cash, two computers, three cell-phones, six Sim cards, two data cards, two ATM cards and documents relating to sale of tickets of APSRTC online. They are looking for another accused, Ramu  of Mulugu in Warangal district.

Ranga Rao said that Hanumantha Rao, who has been working as a ticket booking agent of RTC for 12 years, hacked the user IDs of the Vizianagaram depot clerk and an RTC agent at Cheepurupalli. Using their passwords, he made Rs 5.02 lakh. He used a major portion of that amount to repay his loans which he had taken after his other businesses went into red.
