SI caught taking bribe

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday caught a sub-inspector of police red-handed, Bela Police Station in Adilabad district.  Gudipalli Rajanna was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for undertaking an official work. The ACB sleuths recovered the tainted money from underneath the foot-mat of the rear seat of his jeep at his instance.

ACB officials, in yet another raid, caught  Kapileswarapuram tahasildar in the East Godavari district V Chittibabu while he was accepting  a bribe of `20,000 at his residence in Ravulapalem from one K Venkateswara Rao, president of Handloom Weavers Society of Angara, for processing and recommending to revenue authorities his application for allotment of land for construction of weavers’ community hall.

The officials will produce him in an ACB court in Vijayawada.

Dumriguda sub-inspector of police G Muralikrishna in Visakhapatnam district was caught by ACB authorities while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from P Sambasiva Rao in return for not arresting his brother in a bigamy case and to help him obtain an anticipatory bail.

The SI was arrested and is being produced in an ACB court in Visakhapatnam.
