Survey soon on families of victims of Maoist violence

The state government accorded permission to the director-general of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Rural Development to conduct a survey on the socio-economic status of the families of victims of extremist violence and also that of extremists surrendered to the government.

The state government accorded permission to the director-general of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Rural Development to conduct a survey on the socio-economic status of the families of victims of extremist violence and also that of extremists surrendered to the government.

The high-powered cabinet sub-committee, constituted by the state government under the chairmanship of minister for finance Anam Ramnarayana Reddy to look into the Naxalite problems, recommended that a survey be done by a government organisation on the socio economic status of the families of civilians and government officials killed by extremists and who received benefits as per government policy and also on the socio-economic status of the surrendered extremists who were provided with relief measures for their rehabilitation as to whether they were continuing in the mainstream of the society and settled properly or whether any beneficiary has gone back to his old ways.

The home department and district collectors should provide the data pertaining to the civilians and government employees who were extended the benefit by the government.

The director-general of police will provide the data pertaining to surrendered extremists.
