Pro-Telangana parties’ march to the state assembly was foiled by the police on Friday who took into preventive custody senior leaders of TRS and BJP, and blocked all roads leading to the legislature building.

Trouble broke out at around 10 a.m when Telangana activists pelted stones at the police and a couple of activists were injured as the police canecharged them.About 30 activists of Telangana Jagruthi led by its leader K Kavitha attempted to walk towards the dharna chowk from Banda Misamma Nagar, but dozens of police rushed to the spot and took them into custody.

Kavitha said that despite government putting several hurdles in their way they have succeeded in making  Chalo Assembly a success by reaching Indira Park and she warned that the Telanagana people would teach a lesson to Kiran Kumar Reddy government if they continue to prevent people from expressing their views.

Within half an hour, a huge number of BJP activists led by its senior leaders Ch Vidyasagar Rao and K Lakshman arrived at Ashok Nagar crossroad but were whisked away by the police.

The chasing by the police continued in the streets of Gandhi Nagar and Ashok Nagar. In the meantime BJP senior leader N Indrasena Reddy arrived at the place. Two constables whisked him away and dumped him in a van. Later, DCP Central Zone VB Kamalahasan Reddy sent him to a hospital nearby.

In the meantime TJAC leaders M Kodandaram, Srinivas Goud, Deviprasad  were taken into custody in Ashok Nagar crossroad..

TRS leader Sravan Kumar fell unconscious in the scuffle with police near Indira Park when he tried to reach Dharna Chowk.
