Aiming to do MBA at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, state topper in second-year Intermediate (CEC), Alwala Anil, who had scored 957/1000 marks met chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat seeking financial aid to continue his further studies as he hails from a poor family.
After meeting the chief minister here on Saturday, Anil told Express that he hails from Machapur village in Geesukonda mandal in Warangal district and his father Sambaiah has 4 acres of land in their village and his mother helps his father in farm activities. But the family’s annual income is not sufficient for his and his elder brother’s educational needs. When he had scored 507/600 marks in Class X, Sneha Junior College at Hanamakonda had offered him free Intermediate education. As his elder brother was already pursing M.Tech in Hyderabad, their parents had a tough time supporting his elder brother financially, he said, claiming that the chief minister, after congratulating him, responded positively to his request and asked him to submit an application to his office giving details of his parents’ financial status.
Sneha Junior College correspondent D Somasekhar and principal P Lingamurthy, who accompanied Anil to the CM’s office at the Secretariat, told Express that Anil was a quick learner and governmental support would boost his academic career.
