Heat wave continues despite showers

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of coastal Andhra and Telangana regions while it rained at a few places in Rayalaseema and coastal districts on Monday.

According to the meteorological department, light to moderate rain will occur at a few places in the coastal, Telangana and  Rayalaseema regions. The outlook will reamin the same for the next two days.

In Hyderabad, on the morning of May 29, the sky will remain partly cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur in parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 40 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively. 

The highest rainfall of 7 cm was recorded  at Dhone in Kurnool district, followed by 4 cm each in Alur (Kurnool), Kuppam (Chittoor), Rayachoti (Kadapa) and  Chitapalli (Visakhapatnam).

On Sunday the maximum temperatures markedly fell at one or two places in coastal Andhra and Telangana, and changed a little in Rayalaseema. They were markedly above normal at a few places in coastal Andhra  and appreciably above normal at one or two places in Telangana and Rayalaseema. The highest maximum temperature of 46 degress Celsius was recorded at Kakinada and Tuni, the met department said.
