A special CBI court on Tuesday directed Superintendent of Police, CBI, Hyderabad, to investigate a complaint filed against former mines minister Galla Aruna Kumari and eight others, for allegedly grabbing 2.2 acres of government land in Nanakramguda. Dealing with a private complaint lodged by Gali Purushotam Naidu, the CBI court directed the agency to investigate and submit a report. Apart from Aruna Kumari, her husband Ramachandra Naidu, son Jayadev, daughter-in-law Ramadevi, former Ranga Reddy district collector V Sheshadri, former GHMC commissioner CVSK Sharma, former deputy collector and tehsildar Sherlingampalli G Subba Rao, APIIC zonal manager Nagabhushanam Reddy and Cyberabad Development Authority have been named in the complaint. The petitioner accused the former minister and her family members of illegally encroaching upon the government land — which was handed over to the APIIC for the Emaar township — by creating false documents and building permissions. The CBI, in its supplementary chargesheet in the Emaar case, had also alleged that Aruna Kumari and her family encroached upon the government land in Nanakramguda. It had even recommended to the government to take action against Jayadev and his wife.
