HYDERABAD: Melody and awe, at the perfection of the art of whistling soulful tunes is what had the audience spellbound at the Saptha Raaga Saagaram, a concert by whistle wizard Komaravolu Siva Prasad at Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.

The performace staged at Ravindra Bharthi by Siva Prasad was not just whistling on popular tunes, listeners also got a chance to listen to his own composition annamaya keertanalu from Raga mallika pallavi.

Whistle Music is rare and a specialised art in the the melodious world of music and Siva Prasad has mastered it to perfection and established a prestigious place in the galaxy of enchanting musicians. World renowned for his exceptional recital of melodious Carnatic tunes by way of whistling, Hyderabad-based ‘Whistle Wizard’ Komaravolu Siva Prasad dreams to popularise the distinctive art. Prasad’s disciples say producing musical notes through whistling is a unique art form and not everybody’s cup of tea.

This was followed by Sapta Swaralu and Sapta Raagalu. He has performed in more than 10,000 concerts and in more than 25 countries such as Muscat, USSR, USA, Australia, Malasiya, Qatar etc.

With the release of an LP record, five CDs and an equal number of cassettes, he carved a place in the Limca Book of World Records in 1991.
