Kuchipudi, folk dancers from Hyderabad mesmerise Swiss

HYDERABAD: If the Alps mesmerise the world, a group of Hyderabad artists floored the entire country that owns the mountains. The Swiss city of Zurich saw an overwhelming response to Jayathe Kuchipudi and Folk dance festival organised on June 18 by IEAC (Indian Entertainments Arts & Culture). Performances by Hyderabad dancers Dr Vanaja Uday, Dr Usha Gayatri, and Dr Srikala Jwala mesmerised Zurich and how!

IEAC promotes Indian entertainment, art and cultural activities in Europe and aims at improving social awareness and integration between India and Europe and is the proud host of the historical event.

The event also featured a presentation of Bhakta Prahlada by Kuchipudi Natyramam Vedantam Venkat & team, folk songs and dances by Vaddepalli Srinivas and teamtoo.

Padmashri Dr. Minati Mishra (Indian classical dancer & actress), Shri Jayakumar Guntupalli (UKTA President) and Sarah Gasser (Indian Classical Dance Teacher in Switzerland) were Guests of Honour.

Zurich is one of the nine European performance venues for the 45 Telugu artists who have travelled from India, in collaboration with ICCR and UK Telugu Association. The huge number of attendees from the local Indian and Swiss communities in Switzerland  has applauded the performances.

IEAC Executive Team Amar Kavi, Avinash Dalavai, Krishna Reddy Allu, and Ramakrishna Palika together with more than 30 IEAC volunteers worked for the event.

For Swiss community, this may remain Na Bhooto Na Bhavishyati.
