HYDERABAD: Thousands of IT professionals disembark at the Hitec city MMTS station everyday traveling from different parts of the city. At the same time, the frequency of buses connecting the station to the IT hub is very poor till date. This has resulted in them taking the services of sharing auto services.
While lack of sufficient buses in the route is a troubling concern for them, rush in those few plying buses in the peak hours is huge, they said.“We are forced to use commercial cabs and sharing auto services because of the low bus frequency to our office located near Gachibowli. And, most of the times the buses are too crowded,” said a group of techies at Hitec MMTS station on Friday.
Not just that, the bus shelters do not have any bus routes mentioned nor have any timings of buses for the passengers.“We have to juggle between multiple work shifts, and to wait for an hour for the bus to arrive which wastes a lot of time. TSRTC should run additional buses even during the afternoon,” said Dileep Kulkarni, a techie who takes a sharing auto for Rs 20 to Raheja Mind Space.He added, the buses have no proper mention of its routes.
On the other hand, TSRTC says that the problem is being addressed at the earliest. According to officials, there are 130 round trips that pass through the Hitec city bus stop. “There are about 13 buses that go on 130 round trips throughout the day. We have given a proposal to run additional shuttle service from Hitec City railway station to Lingampally from September 1,” said an official.He further added that it is the duty of the controller to check on the additional requirement of buses on a particular route. “Controller of the nearest depot should compare MMTS timings to bus timings and then increase the frequency which will be beneficial, he said.
