R Vidyasagar Rao cremated with full State honours in Hyderabad

State government’s advisor (Irrigation) R Vidyasagar Rao, who died on Saturday, was cremated on Sunday at Amberpet Smasana Vatika with full State Honours.

HYDERABAD: State government’s advisor (Irrigation) R Vidyasagar Rao, who died on Saturday, was cremated on Sunday at Amberpet Smasana Vatika with full State Honours.

Rao’s son Venkata Ramana lit the funeral pyre after the flower-bedecked body was brought from his Habsiguda residence to Amberpet.

As the government extended State Honours to Vidyasagar Rao, police opened three rounds of fire into the air. The procession which started at Hubsiguda reached Amberpet via Uppal Crossroads and Ramanthapur.

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana, Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman Vemula Prasanth Reddy, CPI state secretary Chada Venkata Reddy, Balladeer Gaddar, several MLAs and a large number of people paid tributes to Vidyasagar Rao on Sunday.
