KOCHI: ‘Ethicus’, an ethical fashion brand from Appachi Cotton, will have a sale at Fabindia, Thamarappally store, from Thursday to Sunday. Saris designed by Chelna Desai will be on display. The recently launched ‘Ethicus’ brand will offer an array of products made of 100 percent eco-logic organic cotton and ethical silk.
‘Ethicus’ products are hand-crafted by rural artisans using centuries-old weaving techniques on jacquard handlooms and are designed keeping international standards in mind.
The new ‘Ethicus’ brand includes beautiful saris, stoles, duppattas as well as a host of other men’s and women’s garments.
All the products in the new ‘Ethicus’ line-up are made from 100 percent certified organic Appachi eco-logic cotton and ‘ahimsa silk’ and are grown with the core purpose of sustaining the ecological balance. ‘Ethicus’ cotton is grown without the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides and from plants that have not been genetically modified.
Appachi cotton, the company promoting the ‘ethicus’ brand, is a pioneer of the ‘inclusive growth’ approach. Appachi Cotton’s integrated contract farming model has helped thousands of small and marginal farmers in India by making sure that the fragile ecosystem of the Kabini region in Karnataka, where the cotton is grown, are protected. The cotton grown for the ‘Ethicus’ brand possibly has the shortest carbon footprint in the global textile industry.
You can see exquisitely woven saris, dupattas and stoles in organic cotton besides a black and white collection and cream and gold collection of saris, apt for Onam season, on display. Drop in any time between 10 am and 7 pm.
