KOCHI: As a part of the World Tourism Day observance on Monday, the Ernakulam south area branch of YMCA is organising an elocution contest and quiz for students from class V to VII. The programme to be held at Kadavanthra on Saturday, is being conducted as an attempt to create awareness among the students about the role of tourism in promoting social, cultural, political and economic values.

The topic of the elocution competition is 'How biodiversity can play a major role to promote a sustainable growth in tourism? Your suggestion to make Kerala

a biodiversified state to attract quality tourist.'

The quiz will concentrate on the aspects in the tourism sector. The quiz will start at 10.30 a.m., while the elocution competition will start at 10 a.m. Cash awards, trophies and certificates will be presented to the winners.

Each school can send three participants for the elocution competition and three teams each consisting of two members for the quiz. All the entries certified by the school authorities should reach the office on or before September 23. For details, contact 2314307 and 9447410422 ? ENS
