KOCHI: In a bid to promote fancy poultry in the state, a three-day exhibition will be held at the Mattanchery Veterinary Hospital from Friday.

The exhibition will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. The entry is free. It will showcase poultry of different varieties, most of them imported from abroad.

Ranging from Rs 1,000, their cost could reach Rs 5,000.

The exhibition is organised by a private organisation that had participated in an exhibition on animal protection at the state capital some months back. Its stall became very popular with the visitors which prompted the government to think in terms of allowing the private party to hold exhibition across the state, sources said.
