Petition seeks embargo on 'Kalimannu'

Express News Service

From live shooting of the birth of Shweta Menon’s baby to the threat by Film Exhibitor’s Federation and women organisations, ‘Kallimanu’ is unassumingly becoming one of the most controversial films of Mollywood.

Adding to the controversies surrounding the film, a petition filed before the Kerala High Court on Monday demanded a stop on its release. The petition was filed by Guinness Madasamy, member of International Peace Bureau, seeking a directive to the chairman of the Board of Film Censors (BFC) and director Blessy to screen the film only after removing the delivery scene. Swetha Menon wilfully permitted filming of her delivery for her personal gain, the petitioner submitted.
