It seems like the population who are ready to work for a green cause are   alive and kicking or at least the turn out witnessed by the poster designing contest held by an advertising agency on the occasion of World Environment Day proves so.

In what could be termed as a creativity for a cause, the poster design contest organised by the BPS Organic, an advertising agency, has garnered widespread response from people. The contest, run on the theme ‘Sustainable consumption for a sustainable future’, has attracted huge participation. As many as 410 poster designs poured in for the contest.

While many took the opportunity to showcase their creative bones, others used the platform to vent their anguish over the way we treat our environment. The best poster designs put for virtual display was selected by an eminent jury  comprised of journalist G Shaheed, environmental scientist C Christopher, social scientist Madhu P Menon and popular photographer Rajan Paul. These selected poster designs are now open for audience polls up to June 15 on www.organicbps.com

The online expo was opened to public by director Lal Jose. At the occasion Lal Jose said social platforms were most suited to generate awareness and action on lot of issues that are relevant and critical to our survival.

Film Director.  “In order to effectively educate the youth on environment issues and the hazards of resource depletion, the online media plays a pivotal role,” he added. Organic BPS has been conducting environment awareness programmes for the last five years. The agency has effectively utilised social networking sites, including Facebook, in the past to convey the message to the public. Last year, the theme was ‘Shrinking forests and ways to tackle it’. The expo was attended by over 200 people.
