Express News Service

The Alphons Kannanthanam Academy for Career Excellence will felicitate this year’s IAS toppers on Saturday at Town Hall, Ernakulam.

Haritha V Kumar, Sriram Venkitarman and Alby John will be felicitated at the function. The Civil Service Foundation Programme, initiated by the Academy, will also be inaugurated on the same day. ADGP B Sandhya will be the chief guest. Alphons Kannanthanam, chairman of the academy, will deliver a special address. According to the organisers, the academy has designed a special programme ‘ACE Leaders of Tomorrow’ to help students from Kerala to crack civil services exams.

“We hope to create an ambience where creativity, curiosity and confidence will flourish. The foundation course will be helpful not only for civil service aspirants, but also for all ambitious students to face any competitive exam,” they said. “The course is designed for students of 8th to 10th standard. The programme will be continued for selected students of Plus-One and Plus-Two,” they said.

“Unfortunately, education in the state is not designed to produce civil servants. The Malayali parent is only obsessed about percentage and entrance exams. We need to build up a generation which is aware of what is happening around, in India and across the world,  who can dream of being part of a team who can build a proud India,” they added.
