Metro: Land acquisition for phase II over

The second phase of land acquisition  for metro rail stations, which covers 15 stations and allied facilities  including  parking area, have been completed, said District Collector P I Sheikh Pareeth.

“The value of the land being acquired for seven stations and their parking areas will be finalised this week.

“For acquiring land for the Kaloor station, the district administration will follow rules under the Land Acquisition (LA) Act”, the Collector  said

He said that “it has also been decided to proceed with Land Acquisition Act if the meeting to finalise the price of land at Poonithura and Thykoodam is not fruitful.

The meeting will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday.

The meeting to fix the price of land  for Muttam and Ambattukavu stations is at 4 pm. The meeting regarding land for Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat)station is at 5 pm”. 

Price for land  being acquired for Edappally High School station has been fixed at `24 lakh at the  meeting of district level purchase committee.

Notification for land acquisition for Company pady, Kalamassery, Palarivattom ,Kaloor stadium, Lisie, Madhava Pharmacy, Maharaja’s College and Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) Kadavanthra is expected soon, said Metro rail deputy collector Mohandas Pillai.
