The Shadkala Govinda Marar Award for 2013 was presented to Kalamandalam Satyabhama.
Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob presented the award at the Shadkala Govinda Marar Smaraka Kalasamithi, Ramamangalam, on Sunday.
Inaugurating the event, the minister said that the Shadkala Govinda Marar Award is a recognition for our rich cultural history. Kalamandalam Deemed University Vice-Chancellor P N Suresh presented the awards to Kalamandalam Satyabhama and lauded her contributions to the art. P G Marar commemorated former Kalasamithi secretary P N Karunakaran Nair and Dr P P Narayanan Namboodiri during the event.
