Express News Service

The Organised Crime Wing of the Crime Branch has included Sureesh, alleged to be the kingpin behind the flesh trade business, as an accused in the Gulf sex racket case. Sureesh was included in the case on the basis of a statement given by Lissy Sojan, a key accused in the case.

Crime Branch team has given a report before the Aluva Judicial First Class Magistrate requesting Sureesh to be included in the accused list. “Sureesh is one among those for whom Lissy Sojan was running brothels in the Middle East. He is the sixth accused in the rape case registered on the basis of a statement given by a victim and the seventh accused in the immoral trafficking case,” Crime Branch officials said.

The Crime Branch has initiated procedures for tracking down Sureesh. “As per the statement given by Lissy Sojan, Sureesh was in Kerala. He returned to Dubai last month. We are monitoring his business activities at Valappad, his  native place, in Trissur. His financial dealings are under scanner,” Crime Branch officials said.

Crime Branch would also take steps to ensure the assistance of Interpol in arresting him from Dubai. “Since the case is to be handed over to the CBI, we will complete all the necessary paper works. The CBI would further look into the matter to decide whether to seek the assistance of Interpol,” sources said.
