The Admission Supervisory Committee has granted permission to the Kerala Private Medical Colleges’ Management Association (KPMCMA) to conduct its own entrance examination.
The KPMCMA will conduct an entrance test on Friday, challenging the rank list of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
The entrance test is being held for admission to courses offered at eight medical colleges under the organisation.
The colleges under the KPCMCA are the Malabar Medical College and Research Centre, Atholi, Kozhikode; KMCT Medical College, Manassery, Kozhikode; MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna; Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Ernakulam; Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kollam; Travancore Medical College, Kollam; Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation, Thiruvananthapuram, and SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram.
KPMCMA office-bearer Fazal Gafoor said the association has been granted permission by the Supreme Court to conduct entrance examination bypassing the NEET rank list.
“Those who argue that the KPMCMA does not have the permission to conduct entrance exam should read the court verdict. The exam is being conducted on May 31 in Kozhikode under the supervision of the Admission Supervisory Committee,” he said.
