After the take over of the Cochin Medical College in Ernakulam, the government has now taken over its nursing college and nursing school. The nursing college will now come under the Medical Education Department and the nursing school under the Health Services Department. The high-level committee which has been constituted to examine matters relating to the service and salary of the staff of the medical college will also look into the service and salary of the employees of the nursing college and the nursing school. The current situation with regard to the service and salary of the employees in the nursing school and nursing college will continue till a decision is taken as per the report of the committee.
