CM to Inaugurate CUSAT Seminar Complex

KOCHI: The seminar complex of Cochin University of Science and Technology will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on September 16 at 9.30 am.

K Babu, Minister for Ports, Excise & Fisheries will be the chief guest for the day, said a press release. V K Ebrahim Kunju, Minister for Public Works will preside over the function.

The Science Seminar Complex, having two air-conditioned halls can seat a total of 750 participants and is said to be built on ultra-modern standards at a cost of `6 cr. The building is suitable for holding both national and international seminars.

The Main hall has an area of 6639 sq ft and a raised stage/platform of 1116 sq ft. The mini seminar hall can seat 75 persons. Equipped with the latest technology in acoustics and scientific seating arrangements, the halls provide a theatre effect. The reception hall, separate dining area and all other rooms have been provided with the advanced sanitary facilities and other fittings.

The first floor incorporates two office rooms, executive hall & conference hall that can accommodate 80 persons and toilets. The seminar complex occupies a total area of 32024 sq. ft. and has arrangements for rainwater harvesting.

The golden jubilee celebrations of The School of Management Studies, CUSAT, will be held on the same day and the same will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
