KOCHI: Better Kochi Response Group (BKRG), Kerala Management Association(KMA) and like- minded persons have vowed to boycott Monday’s trade unions-sponsored hartal.

The hartal was called to protest the Centre’s decision to extend fixed term employment to all sectors.

“Following the last state-wide hartal on October 16 last year, we along with the KMA held talks with various chambers and merchants’ associations. We also sent letters to all the political parties requesting them to stop state-wide hartals as it affects the day-to-day life,” said S Gopakumar,  BKRG president.

“If the hartal manages to paralyse normal life across the state we will be forced to seek legal recourse. It is the fear of losing their livelihood and being attacked which force the ordinary people to heed the hartal call,” he said.
