BENGALURU : While this year's budget is said to focus on waiving farmer loans and other issues, youngsters below 20 years of age speak about their concerns and expectations regarding the same.
Several students are concerned about bus passes. They demand either make bus passes free or affordable. The current rate of a yearly student pass for commuting on non-AC buses on their fixed route is Rs 1050.
The students feel it is expensive. They are forced to cut other expenses in their budget in order to afford a bus pass. Ritu, a 19-year-old student demands free bus passes because, she says, students can’t pay Rs 1,240 every year. Karthik Kumar, a student of PVP polytechnic, adds student bus passes should be available at minimal rates.

I struggle during the rainy season as water enters my house in Koramangala. The roads get waterlogged. This is all because of unorganised roadworks and its improper alignment. So the roads should be laid properly to avoid such cases during the rainy season.

The government should provide free scholarships to those who get good marks. Students should get free bus passes so that it encourages them to use public transport. They can also give hostel facilities to those who can't afford to stay in PGs as they charge `8,000 and deposit of `50,000.

There are no employment opportunities for Kannadigas. People from other states are given priority in, especially government jobs. I had to wait in a long queue because of a bank employee who could provide services in local language recently.
