Kochi: Drivers Union inks pact for E-Autos

As per the agreement, the co-ordination committee will take the autorickshaws on hire/rent. Kinetic has agreed to let it on hire on a pilot project basis for an initial pilot period of 90 days.

KOCHI: The Ernakulam District Auto Rickshaw Drivers Trade Unions co-ordination committee has signed an agreement with Kinetic Green Energy Power Solutions for engaging auto drivers to run the E-Auto services as part of Kochi Metro’s feeder network.

As per the agreement, the co-ordination committee will take the autorickshaws on hire/rent. Kinetic has agreed to let it on hire on a pilot project basis for an initial pilot period of 90 days. The agreement will be reviewed and extended on mutual terms and conditions. As per the agreement the auto drivers will have to pay `100 per day up to 30 days and 150 per day for 31 to 90 days. The committee has been assigned by the respective unions with the responsibility of aggregating the autorickshaw drivers in the Greater Kochi (GCDA/GIDA).
