THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Fraternity for Arts and Media Entertainment (FRAME) has announced its Media Gallop Poll Awards - 2009 here on Sunday.

 Bhagat Chandrasekhar of Indiavision and Shani of Manorama News bagged the awards for the best news presenters.‘Parijatham’, telecast in Asianet has been selected as the best serial and ‘Varthamanam’ of Surya TV won the award for the best interview programme.

 The FRAME media award for overall contribution to the media sector will be presented to veteran journalist K.Mohanan.

 S FM has bagged the award for the best FM Radio and Jayanthi of Radio Mirchi and Rijas of S FM have been selected as the best radio jockeys.

 The awards were announced by the jury comprising of noted filmmaker Renji Panikkar and I and PRD deputy director A.Feroz at a news conference here.The awards will be presented at a function to be held here on the first week of May.

 The other awards are: Best director - Vayalar Madhavan Kutty (Sri Guruvayoorappan, Surya TV); best actor - Arun Ghosh (Parijatham, Asianet); best actress - Razana (Parijatham, Asianet); best comedy programme - Comedy Street (Tini Tom and party, Jeevan TV); best comedian - Saju Kodiyan (Cinemala, Asianet); best female comedy artist - Manju Pillai (Kaliyil Alpam Karyam, Surya TV); best child artists - Dhananjayan (Sri Guruvayoorappan) and Namitha (Velankanni Mathavu); best anchor (male) - Govindan Kutty Adoor (Students Only, Kairali TV); best anchor (female) - Remya (Surya TV); best health programme - Jeevanam (Kairali); best cine programme - Vellithira (Surya TV); best women’s programme - Vanitha (Manorama News); best travelogue - Singapore Choice (Asianet); best music programme - Sangeetha Sangamom (Amrita TV); best cookery show - Taste of Kerala (Amrita TV); best music album - Palavattom (Asianet); best foreign programme (Malayalam) - American Today (Asianet); best male singer - Franco and best female singer - Sayanora.The special jury award for best initiative will be presented to the programmes ‘Katha Parayumbol’ and ‘Patturumal’ (Kairali TV).
