The 81st ‘Mandalachirappu’ and 32nd ‘Trikkodiyettu mahotsavam’ began at Sasthamangalam Mahadevar Temple here on Wednesday. The daily rites start  with ‘Palliyunarthal’ at 4.30 am and conclude with ‘Sreebhootabali’ at 8.30 pm.

‘Thrikkodiyettu’ was held at 9 am on Wednesday. There was ‘annadanam’ at 12 pm. Bhajan was held at 5.15 pm, followed by a musical concert led by Rajashree Warrier at 7 pm. There will be ‘annadanam’ every day. Thursday’s programmes include Koodiyattam by Margi at 5.15 pm and ‘Chirikettu mahotsavam’ by Skylark at 7 pm.

 The third day’s programmes include ‘Padakam’ by Kalamandalam Unnikrishnan Nambiar at 5.15 pm and drama ‘Snehichu teerathavar’ by Mamata at 7 pm.

 There will ‘Ayilya pooja’ at 10 am on the fourth day, Saturday. ‘Nagyarkoothu’ by Margi Usha at 5.15 pm and classical dance by Sri Chithira Thirunal Sangeetha Nadana Kala Kendram at 7 pm are the other programmes.

 ‘Chakyarkoothu’ by Margi Narayana Chakyar at 5.15 pm and ‘Gana mela’ by  Golden Voice at 7 pm are the highlights of the fifth day, Sunday.

 The ‘Mandalachirappu’ will conclude on Monday. There will be ‘Kazhchasreebali’ at 5.15 pm and ‘Sreebhoothabali’ at 8.30 pm.

 There will be ‘Utsavabali’ at 10 am on Tuesday.  The eighth day will be marked by ‘Kazhchasreebali’. The ‘Arattu ezhunnallipu’ will be taken out at 5.30 pm.
