THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 7th Malayattoor Memorial Award  would be given to Unnikrishnan Thiruvazhiyodu. His novel ‘Rathi Rathya’ was chosen for the award.  

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 15,000, a citation and memento. Malayattoor Smaraka Samithi chairman Dr V K Jayakumar and secretary Aneesh K Ayilara told a news conference that the Malayattoor Prize, the  award for the best debut writer would be given to Bindhu Krishnan, for her anthology of poems ‘Thottal Vadaruthu’.  The jury comprising Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, Dr D Benjamin and Dr P Venugopalan have selected the books for the award. The award ceremony would be held in the third week of January in Thiruvananthapuram.
