THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vava Suresh, the snake-catcher who hits headlines often, has been offered a job at the proposed Snake Rescue Centre at Kottoor near here.  Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar informed the Assembly on Tuesday that if  Suresh was willing to take up the job, that too with a provision that he would be free to move to various places in the state whenever his services were required, the government would only be too happy to appoint him.

 Replying to a submission of M A Vaheed, the Minister also said that the government was willing to provide life and medical insurance cover to  Suresh, who ventures to catch snakes even risking his life. Rs 39,000 was disbursed recently towards medical expenses incurred for his treatment, the Minister said.
