Hindi should be propagated throughout the country: MM Jacob

Meghalaya former Governor M M Jacob has said that national language Hindi should be propagated throughout the country for maintaining the unity of the country.

 He was inaugurating the state-level Hindi Week celebrations organised by  Kerala Hindi Prachar Sabha in association with various Central Government institutions and nationalised banks here the other day.

State Bank of Travancore general manager A N Krishnan presided over the function. Jacob felicitated prominent Hindi scholar  K S Raghavan Pillai by draping a ponnada.

M S Radhakrishna Pillai and Raghavan Pillai elaborated on the functioning of the Prachar Sabha. Shivapuranam,a book translated from Hindi to Malayalam by N P Unni and Mavelikara Achuthan, was released by Jacob by handing over the first copy to BJP leader

O Rajagopal. The Hindi book ‘Aalochana Vivitha’ written by C J Prasanna Kumari was released by T K Narayana Pillai by handing over the first copy to K G Balakrishnan Pillai.

All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram station director K A Muraleedharam, Prachar Sabha chairman S Thankamani Amma and State Bank of Travancore language section manager Sunitha participated.
