One arrested for selling porn films

The Anti-Piracy Cell (APC) on Wednesday arrested a shop owner who was allegedly involved in copying porn films to mobiles and pen drives

for schoolchildren and others.

Aju, the shop owner, was arrested while he was selling the copied version of porn films.

The Anti-Piracy Cell also seized 525 duplicate CDs of new Malayalam films, 25 porn CDs, five hard disks containing porn films and two CD writers from his shop near the Venganoor Higher Secondary School.

He was arrested in a raid after the Anti-Piracy Cell SP A Akbar got a secret information that some of the shops near the schools and colleges were engaged in copying and selling porn films.

Aju was arrested by a police team led by Anti-Piracy Cell Inspector N Jiji and Vizhinjam Circle Inspector Stuart Keeler.

Sub Inspectors T V Shibu, Jayasenan, Anoop, Babu and ASIs Aseem, Fatheem and Shan were also part of the team which conducted the raid.

Anti-Piracy Cell SP Akbar said that copying of porn films through blue-tooth and internet was punishable.

He said that raids would be intensified in the coming days.

Awareness programmes will be conducted in all the schools for educating the students against such activities, he added.
