Alliance Française de Trivandrum is conducting a reading session on Jean Cocteau to commemorate this literary genius in the best possible way.  The centre claims that the reading session is conducted to make him familiar to the Indian audience.‘The Frivolous Prince’ of France Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was best known for his literary and cinematic contributions.

His novel Les Enfants terribles (1929) is considered a classic around the world. Known for his skills as a poet, novelist, dramatist, designer, playwright, artist and filmmaker, this French man was in close contacts with Pablo Picasso to Coco Chanel in his time. His films Blood of a Poet (1930), Les Parents terribles (1948), Beauty and the Beast (1946) and Orpheus (1949) had garnered recognition in the world cinema circuit.  His versatility is evident from the extent of creative works he has done during his life time.

The programme is scheduled to be held on Friday at 5.00 pm at the centre’s library.  Anybody who is in love with French language or literature is free to attend the event.
