17 injured in bus mishap

Seventeen persons were injured after a KSRTC super fast bus lost control and rammed into a compound wall at Kariavattom on Friday afternoon.

 Those hurt, including the bus driver, were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, Sreekariyam police said. All the passengers, except one, were discharged by evening, Medical College Hospital authorities said.

 The accident had occurred around 1 pm near the ‘Guru Mandiram’ at Kariavattom. The bus, which was on its way to Thiruvananthapuram from Mala, lost control and skidded off the road, ramming into a nearby wall and an electric pole. On impact, the front portion of the bus was badly damaged. Bystanders and local people immediately shifted the passengers to the Medical College Hospital.
