Trial in Anand murder case commences

The trial in the murder case of Anand, a student of Government Polytechnic College, Nedumangad, began in the First Additional Sessions Court here on Thursday. The charge sheet was read out to the accused. Additional Sessions Judge K P Indira posted the case to June 18.

Additional Public Prosecutor V Sajan Prasad, who had appeared in the Aprani Krishnakumar murder case, was appointed the public prosecutor in the case. Advocate Lija Linsbi also will appear for the prosecution.

The case pertains to the murder of Anand on December 8, 2012, by a gang of drug peddlers. They allegedly killed him by hurling bombs at him near the railway track at Poundukadavu. Shibu alias Blacky Shibu, 34, Subhash, 28 and Binu, 27, are the accused in the case.
