The State Institute of Languages, along with N V Literary Forum, organised an award distribution and birthday celebration of N V Krishna Warrier at the Institute on Monday.

“Krishna Warrier had shown enormous diversity in his style and themes. He is known as a poet who protested against inequalities in socially and economically evil systems,” said  poet laureate O N V Kurup, inaugurating the N V Literary Forum.

ONV released the biography of N V Krishna Warrier authored by State Institute of Languages director M R Thampan at the event. Poet Sugathakumari received the first copy.  The Institute also launched an exclusive CD for visually impaired persons which includes the life histories of Leo Tolstoy and Albert Einstein. Sugathakumari released the CD.

“N V Krishna Warrier was one of the best literary editors in Malayalam and an outstanding poet who was ever alive to social realities and decadence of ethical values. He is described as a poet who chose the medium of lyrical narrative,” said Thampan.

Thampan presided over the function. C G Ramachandran Nair, P Narayana Kurup, Kalam Kochera and Sajini S were present.
