THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An album of Onam songs produced by Kerala Suchitra Film Society was released by Kavalam Sreekumar at Press Club, on Wednesday. Titled ‘Onam Vanne’, it has two music videos featuring children enjoying Onam.
The songs will be made available on Youtube. ‘Katta Katta Kayarittu’ is a folk song, while ‘Atham Pathu Pirannal’ is a song written by Vineeth Velur.
Sreekumar said that he decided to cooperate with the initiative as it had no commercial motives. He said that there is a need to spread the values projected by Onam among children. The songs have been sung by Kavalam Sreekumar and directed by Santhal Athanikkal. Santhal said best Onam memories are from childhood, and the album promotes the idea that Onam is important for children.
