Ace cinematographer and filmmaker Santhosh Sivan was presented with the first Loyola Global Leadership Award, instituted by the Loyola Old Boys Association (LOBA).

At an event organised by LOBA at the Sree Mulam Club here the other day, Santhosh received the award from T P Srinivasan, Vice Chairperson, Kerala State Higher Education Council in the presence of K S Sabarinathan MLA, an alumnus of the school.  Apart from the Loyola Global Leadership Award presentation, LOBA also announced a Loyola Welfare Initiative, under which it aims to launch schemes like health insurance, pension schemes, etc. for staff - teaching and non-teaching, serving as well as retired.

LOBA would generate funds from within so as to fund all its schemes.  The logo for the welfare initiative was released by Father Verghese Anikkuzhi who handed it over to Father Devassy Paul.
