T K A Nair Resigns as Chief of KSIDC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: T K A  Nair has resigned from the post of Director and Chairman of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). He tendered his resignation after serving the corporation for 16 long years. 

He resigned in the wake of an order issued by the Department of Planning and Economic Affairs on May 10, 2015, that stipulated that the age limit for appointment of chairman and managing director shall be fixed at 75 and 65 years respectively for companies registered under the Companies Act. 

Nair was nominated as the chairman of KSIDC in 1999 while he was serving as a member of the Public Enterprises Selection Board and as Secretary in the then Prime Minister’s office.  During his 16 years’ tenure as chairman,  KSIDC had an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the landmark projects of the state like Cochin International Airport, IIITM-K and the proposed LNG terminal.
