THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Asianet Television Awards 2015 were distributed in a glittering function held at Kochi. Several prominent persons from the film and socio-cultural sectors attended the event. 

Mammootty, Jayaram, Kavya Madhavan, Asif Ali, Bhama, Namitha Promod, Archana Kavi, Aju Varghese, Sreejith Ravi, Jayan, Raveendran, Kalabhavan Shajon, KPAC Lalitha, Samskrithi Shenoy, Sathyan Anthikkad, V K Prakash and Gopi Sundar were part of the award night.

‘Karuthamuthu’ bagged the award for the best serial while Sujith Sundar and Praveen Kadakkavoor shared the best director award for  ‘Chandanamazha’ and ‘Karuthamuthu’. Kishore Sathya won the best actor award for his role in ‘Karuthamuthu’ and Gayathri bagged the best actress award for ‘Parasparam.’  ‘Chandanamazha’ won the popular serial award while ‘Sthreedanam’ bagged best entertainer of the year award. Other major awards include Rajeev Roshan and Divya (star pair), Roopasree ( best costumed artiste), Shalu Kuriyan and Sonu (best actress in a negative role ), Santhosh Kurup (character actor), Roopasree and Rekha (Character actress), Pradeep Panicker (screenplay), Gireesh Gramika and Cherunniyur Jayaprakash (dialogues), Richard (new face male), Premi (new face female), Kottayam Rasheed (humorous role), Jishin (actor in a negative role), Hemachandran (videographer), Anish (audiographer), Lal Kannan (editor), Sidharth (dubbing artiste male), Ambili (dubbing artiste female), Balaganapathy (children’s serial), Akkamma Stalinum Pathrose Gandhiyum (comedy serial), Amma (longest running serial) and Sthreedhanam (promos).

Dance and comedy performances by a bevy of prominent artists were also part of the gala event. Asianet will be telecasting  Asianet Television Awards 2015  on June 6 and 7 from 7 pm onwards.
