VIJAYAWADA: After being accorded A++ grading by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), KL Education Foundation (KLEF) has been recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi as Category-1 University, KLEF secretary Koneru Siva Kanchana Latha said.

Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Kanchana said two central universities, 12 State universities and 12 deemed universities have been included in this group, which the KLEF has recently joined. “The UGC Category-1 status provides the KLEF leverage in introducing undergraduate and postgraduate courses through distance education,” she said.

KLU Vice-Chancellor LSS Reddy said the UGC status would make it easier for those, who want to pursue higher education while working. Vijayawada and Hyderabad campuses have been proposed to provide various courses from next year.
