VIJAYAWADA:  Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family will visit Vijayawada on Thursday to offer prayers at the Kanaka Durga Temple atop the Indrakeeladri. Rao will offer a gold nose stud to the Goddess to fulfil a promise he had made during the days leading to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. This is the Telangana Chief Minister’s second visit to Vijayawada after the division of the two Telugu-speaking states.

He had in 2015 come for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati.
KCR and his family will arrive at Gannavaram Airport around 11 am in a special flight from Hyderabad.
They will rest at the Veterinary College’s guest house before going to the Kanaka Durga temple. “Following their arrival, a green channel will be provided to their vehicles from the airport to the guest house and then to the temple,” said Joint City Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata.

Meanwhile, temple authorities made elaborate arrangements to welcome the Chief Minister and his relatives. He will return to Hyderabad on Thursday evening. In 2017, Rao visited Tirupati and offered ornaments to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and Padmavathi Ammavaru at Tiruchanoor.
