VIJAYAWADA: Taking serious note of the alleged apathy on part of the officials in dealing with the construction of a road over bridge (RoB) in Kavali town of Nellore district, the AP Legislative Council on Tuesday decided to constitute a House Committee to find out the reasons for the slow progress of the works.

When the issue was raised by MLC B Ravichandra, Roads and Buildings Minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu said that the delay in works has increased the land acquisition cost.

The minister also informed the House that there was no co-ordination among the officials in dealing with the ROB and even said that there was no response from them and sought to appoint a House Committee to look into the issues that were delaying the construction works of ROB.

Later, the Council Chairman NMD Farooq with the consent of the members of the House made an announcement appointing the House Committee.
