VIJAYAWADA: Kanaka Durga temple, on the hilltop of Indrakeeladri, has been decorated with one crore colourful Bangles. The decoration was made by the temple authorities to mark Karthika Suddha Vidhiya. Recently, a few devotees from Chirala, Prakasam district, had brought one crore bangles to present them to Goddess Kanaka Durga. The devotees were allowed darshan by the temple authorities from 5 am on Friday.The main deity in the sanctum sanctorum and celestial deities at Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam were also decorated with the bangles. A large number of devotees visited the temple for having darshan of the goddess on the holy day. The devotees were also given bangles as prasadam.
Suprabhatam seva
The temple authorities on a trial run introduced ‘Suprabhatam’ Arjitha Seva of Goddess Kanaka Durga from 3 am to 4 am. They said the introduction of the seva for devotees will be discussed in the trust board meeting after getting permissions from the Endowments department before going ahead with the seva on a daily basis.
