Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan on Thursday unveiled the United Democratic Front (UDF)’s election manifesto for the April 9 Assembly elections in Kerala, promising free travel for women on all Kerala state transport buses.
The manifesto also promises hike in welfare pension to Rs 3,000 per month and a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 for college-going girl students.
Telangana chief minister, Revanth Reddy was also present at the event.
Among other assurances, the UDF has proposed a Rs 25 lakh insurance cover for every family and interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh for small businesses.
Satheesan said if voted to power, UDF will fix a Rs 35 per kg procurement price for paddy, increase the daily wage of ASHA workers to Rs 700 and extend financial support to MSMEs with a turnover of up to Rs 100 crore.
It also promises the establishment of a tribal university in Wayanad.
