The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) joint general secretary Nirmal Kumar has written a letter, which has gone viral on social media, addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and "Home Secretary" Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighting "serious lapses in security arrangements" for TVK leader Joseph Vijay, a "Y-category protectee", during his election campaign in Chennai on Tuesday.

Nirmal Kumar is apparently unaware that Ajay Kumar Bhalla is presently the Governor of Manipur.

Later in the evening it has emerged that this letter has been withdrawn. What is cooking, TVK?

VCK leader appreciates Armstrong’s wife entering politics

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol Thirumavalavan has lauded the courage of slain BSP leader Armstrong's wife, Porkodi, for entering public life. At the same time, he warned that her life remains under threat and emphasized that she requires adequate protection and space to participate in politics. Thirumavalavan also welcomed the AIADMK's decision to provide her with an opportunity to contest the upcoming polls.

CM Stalin's 'morning walk' in Tiruchy

On Wednesday morning, Chief Minister MK Stalin was spotted having tea at a wayside shop in Tiruchy. During his morning walk, Stalin visited Gandhi Nagar market to campaign for DMK candidate Inigo Irudayaraj, who is contesting from Tiruchy East against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Joseph Vijay.

Later, Stalin campaigned in the Bheema Nagar area to seek support for DMK senior leader KN Nehru, who is contesting from the Tiruchy West Assembly constituency.

'Rocket' Raja files nomination

History-sheeter ‘Rocket’ Raja, also known as Arumuga Pandian, has filed his nomination to contest as an independent candidate from the Alangulam Assembly constituency in Tirunelveli district. Raja has previously been jailed multiple times.

Ramdas Athawale comments on post-poll scenario

Republican Party of India president and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, reportedly stated that if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fails to secure a majority in the upcoming elections, negotiations will be held with TVK leader Joseph Vijay to form the government.

Speaking to the media in Puducherry on Tuesday, Athawale said that while the NDA is currently in power in Puducherry and Assam, in Tamil Nadu, the DMK is unlikely to return to power. Post-election, if the NDA falls short of a majority, it could form a government with support from Vijay’s TVK.
